　　En 1610, Rodolphe II, empereur de Bohème, règne sur un pays mécontent. Dans le ghetto de Prague, les juifs ont mis tout leur espoir dans le Golem, monstre en argile, créé par le rabbin Loew, qui doit les délivrer.
　　La créature se réveille et transforme en ruines le palais du souverain, tuant les ministres et les sbires au service du tyran.
