　　1992年，法国人类学家和电影制片人拉杜尔(Eliane de Latour）在尼日尔和酋长的四位妻子共同生活了9个星期，导演和拍摄了纪录片《酋长的第五位新娘》。
　　本片以酋长迎娶第五位新娘为切入角度，表现尼日尔妇女在多妻制文化下的生活和劳作状态。
　　影片既忠实于纪录片的客观真实性，拍摄手法又具有其独特的艺术性。创作者运用了文化人类学的观点和方法进行拍摄，更多地把摄影机对准了远离现代文明、生活在主流社会结构以外的边缘人。该片曾于1993年获the Georges Sadoul大奖。
