　　由于一场有争议的市长选举恰逢对杀害拉泉·麦克唐纳的警官的审判，芝加哥成为了一个热点，这个城市就像一个火药桶，市民们随时准备着点燃它。城市中蜿蜒的摄像机如此真实地捕捉到了从亲密的家庭聚会到易燃的街头抗议等各种各样的声音和视角。候选人、选民、抗议者和旁观者都参与进来，热情的争论和随意的见解以同样的尺度呈现出来，创造了一个长期被视为政治避雷针的城市的广阔视野。

【Nat Geo】城市之真，撕裂之痛。观看的时境刚好是WI、MI的计票站交缠得不可开交之时，双方的大战仿佛一触即发，各自叫嚣着自己的立场与想法；这部纪录片好像无比的配搭。即芝加哥一场前任管理者不寻求连任，而引发重新竞争的市际选举，却得以从这里发生的事件窥见这个世代更多的变化。它不仅仅是NBC用一整晚播放的Dick Wolf剧集马拉松镜头下各类爪马一锅端的熔炉，也不止是旅游纪实的风城，还是系统性歧视和诸多问题难以解决的开端。五集有四集的篇幅给了Lightfoot的当选，仿佛预示着一个新星仕途瞩目的开始；而最后一集却又无意成为给这个城市的情书，再次回到问题根源。整个风格上容易想起怀斯曼，但却又有着更为情感色彩和直白的表达。

现实版蝙蝠侠，冗长、纷繁、复杂、多面，很难很难看进去，又具有非凡的记录时代的意义。最后一集首映时并没有，是疫情期间赶出来的“续集”，正中要害。
