　　在北京剧院里跑龙套的小王在演出临近时接到了发小的结婚请柬，不得不硬着头皮请假回到了老家。这封请柬带着所有关于故乡的时间线闯入小王还在游荡的生活。老家好像在不经意之间发生了好多事情，而同龄人的婚嫁也让毫无方向的他感到无所适从。故乡的妈妈一个跋扈的女人，她在狭小的县城里过着精明的单身生活。她很不满意小王散漫的创作生活，对外宣称小王在考研，一边努力张罗着和志浩的父亲复合；一边又催促着小王赶紧结婚成家。在发小的婚礼上，小王碰见了发小的初恋情人，旧情难了，生活却早已驶出千里。又在相亲的餐馆见到了和和别人约会的父亲，强势的母亲也终于泄了气。故乡的一地鸡毛都让人陌生。面对勉强结合的模范新人、苦苦复合却竹篮打水的妈妈，小王一边写作一边叹气……
