Il Rossellini continua la serie fascista dei documentari romanzati. Investito dal Mistero dell'Aeronautica e scritto da Vittorio Mussolini, questo film racconta un pilota coraggioso contro i nemici. Nonostante un film patriottico, ha poco valori di propaganda, invece dipinge eloquentemente la sofferenza di guerra.
