　　在北京市郊一个小乡村里，有着一家专门为儿童孤独症家庭开办的，提供11周独特训练课程的学校，经营这所学校完全依赖于慈善捐款，学校师资设施也比较简陋。这就是“星星雨”小学校。
　　纪录片讲述了冯嘉伟一家通过将近两年的耐心等待，最终得到带孩子来到“星星雨”参加课程的机会。父母急切盼望学校能够教导他们如何理解和更好管理自己5岁患有孤独症的儿子。他们的儿子还不会用语言交流而且性情急躁，尤其对母亲的态度更是粗暴。当地的公立学校都不愿录取小冯嘉伟，这使得整个家庭感受到社会对他们的排斥。
