　　夜幕下的马尼拉，两辆豪车先后停在一家高档酒店门前。车上分别下来了好莱坞顶尖明星罗伯特·德·尼罗和莱昂纳多·迪卡普里奥，两人各自对着手中的纸张念念有词，直到险些撞到一起，才注意到对方的存在。罗伯特和莱昂都有些尴尬，因为之前他们似乎都告诉对方自己将去别的地方。小心翼翼的试探过后，两人同时拿出藏着的纸张，居然发现手中的竟然都是大导演马丁·斯科塞斯的新片剧本。原来马丁正筹拍一出关于赌王的新戏，所以联系了这两个和他都有过多次合作的实力派，试图在他们中间二选一。为了竞争这个角色，一老一少两代明星像小孩子一样使出浑身解数，明枪暗箭，奚落使绊，简直无所不用其极。
　　三人的脚步从马尼拉到澳门，再到日本，争吵过程中马丁似乎又有了新的想法……
