1934年出品的又一部关于叶卡捷琳娜的电影虽然剧情比放荡的女皇稍微靠谱一些但是这部片子却过分美化了卡捷琳娜和彼得三世的关系，卡捷琳娜成了一个为爱受困的女人了，直到影片结束她还念念不忘彼得三世，这对于真实历史毫无疑问的是一个极大的讽刺。PS小道格拉斯.范朋克将彼得三世演的相当传神
